Birding with Ted Buerger, FWS (free)

Ted's Walk will leave promptly at 5:30 AM. Be sure to allow enough time from the off site parking and bus ride to be on the Refuge by 5:30. The bus will leave the off site parking lot at 5:20AM.

Ted has been leading bird walks at the refuge for more than 17 years and enjoys sharing his interest in birds with others.

About Ted
Since 2000, Ted has been the manager of the Environmental Contaminants Division at the USFWS’s Oregon Fish and Wildlife Office in Portland, which is the Ecological Services program field office for Oregon. The Environmental Contaminants Division is responsible for identifying sources of pollution, investigating pollution effects on fish and wildlife and their habitats, developing solutions to environmental contaminant problems to prevent or minimize adverse impacts, and partnering with others to help restore resources and habitats degraded by pollution. Ted started with the USFWS in 1994 as an Environmental Contaminants Specialist and his job duties included conducting environmental contaminant surveys on lands proposed for inclusion in refuges; he conducted the survey on the Steinborn dairy property, which today makes up the majority of the Atfalat’i Unit at Tualatin River NWR.
